Dear Bird Owner;
This letter is to inform you of an exciting event coming to our store December
3, 2007. Please call for an appointment as soon as
possible. They are filling up fast! Contact Us
for details. Prior to this event, we were unable to do any kind of scheduling
for those needing Dr. Scott McDonalds services. We are going to attempt
something new to eliminate the long wait in our store you may have experienced
in the past. Our store will be scheduling eight patients per hour. Although
your appointment may run later than scheduled, we are hoping this will reduce
your waiting time significantly. Please be understanding to those (not on our
mailing list) that receive notices of the event from the doctor himself and
will be expecting “first come first serve” service. We will try to fit them
into our schedule as time allows.
Dr. Scott E. McDonald, DVM will be conducting his clinic at our location.
Surgical Sexing, wing clips, toe nail and beak grooming, and health exams will
be performed upon request. Dr. Scott McDonald is a 1975 Graduate of Purdue
University School of Veterinary Medicine. He has over 25 years of experience in
avian medicine and surgery.
Scott helped start Midwest Bird Exotic Animal Hospital in the Chicago area in
1986. This is an exclusively avian/exotic animal practice. He worked there
part-time until 2002. He now has a house call practice called Avian Laparoscopy
which consists of surgical sexing of birds, health examinations, and aviary
consultation. His past experiences include working as a staff veterinarian at
the Brookfield Zoo, teaching pet bird medicine to students at three veterinary
schools over a 14 year period, and serving as the Education Chairman for the
Association of Avian Veterinarians for more than 5 years. He has authored over
20 papers concerning avian topics and is an occasional lecturer at professional
meetings and bird club functions.
Although our business hours will extend the duration of this event, the fees
for services listed above should be paid directly to Dr. Scott E. McDonald,
DVM.
IF YOU ARE COMING TO THIS EVENT – PLEASE DO NOT FEED YOUR PET
4 HOURS BEFORE ARRIVING. THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO YOUR PETS HEALTH!!
ALL BIRDS MUST BE IN A CARRIER UNTIL THEY ARE SEEN BY THE VETERINARIAN. THIS IS
TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF YOUR BIRD AND OTHERS.
For more information regarding this event and to schedule an appointment, you
are welcome to call our store at (618) 345-3836.
Sincerely,
Your Neighborhood Pet Store
